Birthday Update
It has been a hectic week for us and for the family so I haven’t had a chance to go birthday shopping. Oh I had been to the store, many times. I just have not been to the store without Baby Boy. Since I could not get away without him, I decided to do a little something different this year. I took him to the store this afternoon and let him pick out his own presents. He thought this was the coolest thing ever! Of course he wanted to buy up the entire store.
It is our family tradition to let the kids have the dinner of their choice on their birthdays. They can either choose something for mommy to make or they can go out to dinner to a place of their choosing. The kids always choose to eat out. Should I take this as an objection to my cooking?
Baby Boy wanted to go to McDonald’s. It was a toss up there for a minute between McDonald’s and Jack’s House (what he calls Jack in the Box) but McDonald’s won out. We swung by the drive-thru on the way home. We came home with bags full of toys, sacks from McDonald’s, cake, and ice cream (Sponge Bob ice cream. Baby Boy saw it and just had to have it!) Baby Boy was thrilled.
After dinner the kids got to talk to daddy. I think that made Baby Boy's whole day to hear daddy wish him happy birthday :)
The kids went to bed worn out but happy. Baby Boy is tucked in bed with his new toys piled in all around him. It was a good day.
Now it's time for mommy to kick back a little and maybe watch a movie. In a couple hours I can call Darling Husband back so I can talk to him without having to fight the kids for the phone lol.

Sounds like it was a fun day! :) Don't forget to take time for YOU, though. Heh, I need to learn to take my own advice. ROFL.
Have a great day!

Asherah, I know your right. I did get some time to myself last night. The kids fell asleep early and I kicked back and relaxed a bit. It was sooo nice LOL.
